Help for the Helpless Project paid its inaugural Christmas visitation to Green Gate Lodge, an old people’s home in Cave Road, London E13 9DX.
The visitation which Pastor S. O. Adebola (President H4H Project) promised would be an annual event, took place on 23rd December 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Hon. Lyn Brown MP as the Special Guest of Honour.
She not only presented the residents with gifts donated by the H4H Project, she also kindly went round all the rooms visiting other residents who could not attend the event and presented them with gifts. She made the day extra special for an elderly woman whose birthday is next day by wishing and giving her a birthday kiss.
Whoever thought MPs cannot sing should have seen the special Guest of Honour join the choir to sing Christmas carols to the residents. What a crooner.
Also in attendance was Dr. Mohit Venkataram, Deputy Head of Adults Services from East Ham Care Centre as well as Counsellor Joy Laguda, Cabinet Member for Older People and Adults, Newham Council.
